Job Overview
We are currently looking for paid Manufacturing Engineering Interns to join our team in Big Rapids, MI.

You’ll join a cohort of around 50 other dynamic interns for a 12-week program packed with meaningful projects and weekly learning opportunities. You may have the chance to attend NeoCon, the largest commercial design event in the world, where you will get an insider’s look at all the latest industry trends and innovations. As a Manufacturing Engineering intern, you will have the opportunity to assist with a variety of exciting projects including updating lockout/tagout procedures, supporting material yield optimization to reduce waste and scrap, participating in quality and safety improvement initiatives, conducting compressed air audits, and assisting with manufacturing process improvements. You will also spend time on the production floor, including operating equipment and working alongside production teams, to gain a deeper understanding of our manufacturing processes. The work is practical and meaningful, allowing you to take ownership of real projects while learning from experienced engineers and supporting the team as they focus on more complex engineering challenges.
Required Qualifications
- Part-time or full-time college enrollment, working towards a bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical/Welding Engineering or Product Design with at least a junior level status by Fall of 2027.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, or comparable software used for data analysis and documentation.
- Ability to work full time on-site in Holland, MI from May 2027 to August 2027.
- Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for the position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Overall GPA of 2.95 or higher
- Previous internship, part-time, or full-time work experience
- Prior experience with Haworth through employment, internship, co-op, or other programs
- Participation in extracurricular activities, athletics, student organizations, or volunteer work
- Experience with CAD software, preferably Creo
- Exposure to artificial intelligence (AI) tools and technologies
- Interest in applying technology and data analysis to improve manufacturing processes
Ideally, you have also demonstrated the following:
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Working knowledge of personal computers, spreadsheet applications, and keyboard skills.
- Desire to learn, question, and research solutions to problems.
- Organized with the ability to manage deadlines.
- Communication, problem-solving, organization, and time management skills
